Power and Temperature

To test the power and temperature we perform a manual run-through in Cyberpunk 2077 at “Ultra” settings for real-world in-game data.  We use GPU-Z sensor data to record the results.  We report on the GPU-Z sensor data for “Board Power” and “GPU Chip Power” when available for our Wattage data.  For temperature data, we report the GPU (Edge Temp of the GPU or Package Temp) as well as Hot Spot (Junction Temperature) when available for our temperature data.

Radeon RX 6750 XT vs RTX 3070 and RX 6800 Performance Comparison Power Graph

In terms of power, interestingly the Radeon RX 6750 XT’s GPU Chip power is higher than the Radeon RX 6800. The reason for this is actually pretty simple, number one the Radeon RX 6750 XT does run at higher clock speeds. Secondly, the Radeon RX 6750 XT runs at a higher voltage of 1.200V while the Radeon RX 6800 runs at just 1.025V. The GeForce RTX 3070 runs with the least power, and the voltage on its GPU is 1.0810V.

Radeon RX 6750 XT vs RTX 3070 and RX 6800 Performance Comparison Temperature Graph

The SAPPHIRE NITRO+ is a custom video card with custom cooling, and as such does have the coolest running GPU package temperature of 66c. The Radeon RX 6800 is just slightly warmer at 70c, running an AMD cooler, and the RTX 3070 was the warmest on the Founders Edition. However, the Hot Spot temperature was a lot higher on the RX 6750 XT, again due to the higher clock speeds and Voltage.
