Stray is off to an impressive start in getting over 60,000 players on Steam during its release day and it could be the indie breakout title of 2022. The cyberpunk cat-sim game managed to beat out recent popular AAA titles such as Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, Elden Ring, and NBA 2K22, to name a few. It has even received an overwhelmingly positive rating from over 10,000 users during its first day.

Stray has reportedly managed to become the most successful PC game launch for Annapurna Interactive ever.

Positive reviews praising its visuals and game design have been coming in from a number of gaming sites as well.

  • PCGamesN – “Stray review – a lost feline becomes a cyberpunk revolutionary”
  • PC Gamer – “A sparkling feline adventure that always lands on its feet.”
  • VGC – “REVIEW: STRAY IS A PLAYSTATION PLUS ESSENTIAL”
  • IGN – “The cat’s meow.”

PlayStation numbers have not been reported yet but it sounds like the game could be a hit on consoles also. Tutorials and game guides are already popping up around the internet further showcasing players’ enthusiasm for the newly launched game.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
