AIDA64 CPU Benchmarks

Now we will look at some specific AIDA64 CPU Benchmarks which test specific parts of the CPUs. The AIDA64 AES benchmark performance using AES data encryption. The SHA3 benchmark tests CPU performance using the SHA3 hashing algorithm and is AVX-512 aware. The FPU Julia benchmarks measure the single-precision floating-point performance of the CPU. The FPU Mandel CPU test tests the double-precision floating-point performance of the CPU.

CPU AES

Intel Core i5-13600K AIDA64 CPU AES

In CPU AES encryption performance the new Intel Core i5-13600K is much faster than the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, it’s 19% faster. Compared to the previous gen 12600K the new 13600K is a large 34% performance bump. We also see the Core i5-13600K outperform the previous gen 12700K as well, which is incredible.

CPU SHA3

Intel Core i5-13600K AIDA64 CPU SHA3

In CPU SHA3 the new Core i5-13600K is faster than the 7600X by 29%. Compared to the 12600K the 13600K is a 41% bump in performance over the previous gen. We also once again see the 13600K perform 10% faster than the 12700K.

FPU Julia

Intel Core i5-13600K AIDA64 CPU FPU Julia

In CPU FPU Julia testing the new Core i5-13600K is 7% faster than the Ryzen 5 7600X. Compared to the 12600K the new 13600K is 31% faster, which is quite a nice bump in performance. It’s also on par with the 12700K and 5800X3D.

FPU Mandel

Intel Core i5-13600K AIDA64 CPU FPU Mandel

In CPU FPU Mandel testing the new Core i5-13600K improves upon the Ryzen 5 7600X by 4%. Compared to the previous 12600K the new 13600K is 28% faster.

Memory Read

Intel Core i5-13600K AIDA64 Memory Read

In memory bandwidth, the Intel Core i5-13600K is on par with the previous generation 12600K, with no difference, and this overall is much higher than the 7600X’s memory bandwidth.

Memory Write

Intel Core i5-13600K AIDA64 Memory Write

In memory write bandwidth the 13600K is on par with the 12600K, no difference, and this is slightly higher than the 7600X.

Memory Latency

Intel Core i5-13600K AIDA64 Memory Latency

In memory latency, the 13600K has very good latency, which matches that of the 12600K. The 7600X has slightly better latency, but it’s very close.

SUMMARY

We put the Intel Core i5-13600K Raptor Lake CPU through its paces and benchmarked synthetic and gaming scenarios at various resolutions. The CPU maintained a high-performance level, rivaling the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X in multi-threaded workloads, and the Ryzen 7 5800X3D in gaming. It is loaded with modern features and cores for multithreading. However, it came at a high cost of power usage and temperature where it lost points for efficiency. Its overall value is detracted by way of this tremendous power utilization in order to maintain its performance leadership. Its overall value is good from a performance and price perspective, but its efficiency is the cost.
