Early gameplay footage of Overdose has been leaked online by a YouTuber, offering an early (but low-quality and unauthorized) glimpse at the secretive project that Hideo Kojima has been working on as part of his new partnership with Microsoft, one that leverages the Xbox and Windows maker’s “cutting-edge” cloud technology. The footage seemingly confirms that the game will star Margaret Qualley, whose character can be seen wandering around what initially appears to be an abandoned location, only to be chased by an unknown attacker. Qualley previously worked with Kojima for Death Stranding, in which she starred as Mama, a scientist of Bridges and twin sister of Lockne.

Kojima teased what the game might be like back in June, when he officially announced that Kojima Productions had entered into a partnership with Xbox Game Studios:

[…] there is a game I have always wanted to make. It’s a completely new game, one that no one has ever experienced or seen before. I’ve waited very long for the day when I could finally start to create it. With Microsoft’s cutting edge cloud technology and the change in the industry’s trend, it has now become possible to challenge myself to make this never-before-seen concept. It may take some time, but I’m looking forward to teaming up with Xbox Game Studios and hope to bring you some exciting news in the future! Thank you!
