Naughty Dog is currently developing The Last of Us Part III, according to ViewerAnon, a well-known movie scooper who dropped a hint about the purported threequel last night after threatening to reveal the project if they didn’t get a screener to HBO’s upcoming live-action adaptation of The Last of Us, which premieres on January 15, 2023.

“If I don’t get a screener link to THE LAST OF US in ten minutes I’m gonna have to drop a scoop,” ViewerAnon warned before going on to share the claim that Naughty Dog’s next project is The Last of Us Part III.

“Well, I’m not watching anything, so… Dr. Uckmann’s next game is THE LAST OF US PART III which is currently in production at Naughty Dog,” he claimed.

ViewerAnon’s tip is apparently being met with skepticism, but the leaker has stressed that the news is genuine, noting that this is not his first scoop.

“I’ve seen a lot of ‘Should we trust this person?’ from new people to the account, so various scoops I’ve had in the gaming-adjacent space: I revealed a whole lot of TLOU show details (ie Ashley Johnson as Anna), was the first to mention the existence of CRASH BANDICOOT 4, etc.,” ViewerAnon said.

“Gaming isn’t my main industry but I know some fun people, basically.”

Naughty Dog released The Last of Us Part II on June 19, 2020, but the game quickly generated significant controversy for the way that the studio and director Neil Druckmann treated some of its characters, including Joel, the fan-favorite protagonist who was introduced in the original 2013 game.

Despite that, the game went on to achieve critical acclaim, now holding the record for most Game of the Year awards.

Prime 1 Studio, one of the world’s leading makers of highly detailed polystone statues, revealed its Ellie and Abby statues last month.
