ASUS has confirmed that its next collaboration with Noctua will come in the form of the GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition, a custom version of the Ada Lovelace graphics card introduced by NVIDIA that combines Noctua’s fan design prowess with some of ASUS’ own engineering, including a custom-built vapor chamber, enabling what is said to be the quietest air-cooled GeForce RTX 4080 option on the market.

ASUS GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition Features

  • 2x Noctua NF-A12x25 fans
  • Custom brown shroud with ASUS and Noctua logos
  • Occupies 4.3 slots of space
  • Dual BIOS switch, including Quiet mode for minimizing acoustics
  • Vapor chamber with eight heatpipes
  • Peaks at just 61.7° Celsius at 320-watt TDP
  • Same low noise levels as GeForce RTX 3070/3080 Noctua models

From the ASUS Edge Up blog:

The NF-A12x25 was an easy choice for this project because of the numerous innovations packed into its 120mm frame. An impeller made from Noctua’s proprietary Sterrox liquid-crystal polymer has an exceptionally low thermal expansion coefficient, allowing the fan blades to sit just 0.5mm away from the outer frame. This extremely tight tolerance allows the NF-A12x25 to work more efficiently against back pressure by reducing the leakage of airflow, perfect for a densely-packed GPU fin stack. A metal-reinforced motor hub and axis further support this extremely precise gap between impeller and frame.

Pricing for the GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition is yet to be confirmed, but the GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition and GeForce RTX 3080 Noctua Edition appear to have launched at $800 and $950, respectively.

ASUS is recommending that its GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition be paired with one of its premium power supplies, which include the ROG Thor 1000P2 and ROG Loki 1000P, an SFX-L power supply aimed at compact builds.

“The NF-A12x25 is a highly optimised next-generation 120mm fan that integrates Noctua’s latest innovations in aerodynamic engineering in order to achieve an unprecedented level of quiet cooling performance,” reads a description for the cooling solution.
