Forspoken is mere weeks away from its January 24 release and Square Enix has released a cinematic trailer to promote the upcoming game. Forspoken has experienced multiple delays in getting released but it appears that the next-gen single-player RPG, which originally had gone under the code name Project Athia, and was announced in 2020, will finally be making its debut. The game is currently only planned for PC and PS5 and will utilize the DirectStorage feature on PC for improved load times. It has been said that DirectStorage will enable loading times as fast as 2 seconds on a PC when using M.2 SSDs.
“Forspoken follows the journey of Frey, a young New Yorker transported to the beautiful and cruel land of Athia. In search of a way home, Frey must use her newfound magical abilities to traverse sprawling landscapes and battle monstrous creatures.”
Steam has updated its store page with the addition of some key features of the game. PC hardware specifications have not yet been announced.
