Could John Wick work without Keanu Reeves? John Wick fans are going to get the answer to that in The Continental, a new three-part event series that is headed to NBC’s Peacock streaming service later this year. Per its title, The Continental revolves around the eponymous hotel that was first introduced in the original John Wick (2014) film, and while it doesn’t look like Reeves will appear anywhere in the series, viewers can expect some gun action, headlined by Colin Wodell, who plays a young Winston Scott, as seen in a new teaser trailer that Peacock has released. Mel Gibson is among the cast, according to the show’s IMDb page.

From a Peacock synopsis:

The three-part event series will explore the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.
