AMD Introduces Ryzen Z1 Series “Zen 4” Processors, including Ryzen Z1 Extreme for ASUS ROG Ally Premium Handheld PC Console

AMD has confirmed that the ROG Ally, ASUS’ new premium handheld PC console, will be powered by a new family of Zen 4 processors called the Ryzen Z1 Series. The Ryzen Z1 Series comprises two models, headlined by the Ryzen Z1 Extreme, a CPU that features 8 cores, 16 threads, a GPU with 12 AMD RDNA 3 compute units, and 24 MB of cache. USB4, as well as LPDDR5 and LPDDR5X memory, are supported in the new AMD Ryzen Z1 Series.

“At AMD, we’re continually advancing the next generation of gaming experiences, from consoles to desktops to on-the-go handheld devices,” said Jason Banta, corporate vice president and general manager, Client OEM at AMD. “Ryzen Z1 processors deliver gamers an elite gaming experience and extreme portability in exciting gaming form factors.”
