Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PC Is Getting a New Patch “ASAP” with Ray Tracing and Performance Improvements

Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that it will be releasing a new patch for the PC version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor “as soon as possible” this week. According to the patch notes, which the developer shared in advance, idle time stalls for ray tracing have been reduced, and while it’s unclear how much of a positive effect this might have on the game’s performance when ray tracing is enabled, traversal hitching has also been addressed with streaming improvements to smooth out movement between map locations. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s latest patch is scheduled to roll out today, Tuesday, May 9, to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

  • (PC only) Updated occlusion behavior for raytracing, reducing idle time stalls.

  • Fixed a collision bug where players can get stuck inside a Meditation Chamber.
  • Added a note explaining that some of BD-1’s abilities are not available while in combat.
  • Improved text scrolling.
  • Minor text translation fixes.
  • Various crash fixes.

Known Issues and Planned Fixes

  • (PC only) Improving performance on newer i7 and i9 CPUs that have efficiency cores.
  • (PC only) General performance improvements to improve both CPU and GPU utilization while reducing idle time, both with and without raytracing.
  • (PC only) Improving some hitching which can be attributed to streaming raytracing data, assets, and a gap in our prebuilt shaders.
  • Various bug fixes.
