Skull and Bones is not the only pirate game that Ubisoft is working on, as sources with Kotaku are claiming that a remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, one of the most celebrated Assassin’s Creed games, is also in development. The new game is supposedly being led by the team at Ubisoft Singapore, whose recent credits include Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Skull and Bones, the closed beta for which is scheduled to take place from August 25 to August 28. PureArts released a highly detailed statue of protagonist Edward Kenway last year.

According to two sources familiar with the plans who asked not to be named because they were not authorized to discuss them, a remake of the 2013 cross-gen PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game is still in its earliest stages and will not be complete for at least a few years. A team at Ubisoft Singapore, one of the studios that has led development on the Assassin’s Creed franchise’s evolving ocean tech, will be heavily involved in helping to modernize the Caribbean-based sailing game.
