HELLDIVERS 2, the new(ish) co-op third-person shooter game from Arrowhead Game Studios and PlayStation that calls on players to defend and liberate planets from giant bugs and other alien enemies, has become the seventh highest-grossing game published by Sony in the U.S. following its launch on February 8 for PlayStation 5 and Windows PCs. Mat Piscatella, Executive Director & Video Game Industry Analyst at Circana, shared the news this week in response to some of the video game market results that his company tallied for March, noting that the success is owed largely to PC sales of the game.

Piscatella said:

  • “PC has been a huge part of the success of Helldivers II in the US.”
  • “With PC, Helldivers II is already the 7th highest grossing Sony published game in history.”
  • “Without PC it wouldn’t currently rank among the top 20.”
  • “…over half of US dollar volume life-to-date has come from the PC version.”

HELLDIVERS 2 is currently celebrating:

  • 7th highest-grossing Sony-published game (U.S.)
  • No. 1 seller year-to-date ending March 2024 (U.S.)
  • No. 2 best seller in March 2024 (U.S.)
  • No. 1 on Steam’s list of most-played titles for March 2024
  • No. 2 best-selling game on PlayStation for March 2024

A new trailer for HELLDIVERS 2’s latest Warbond, out May 9:

PlayStation on the game’s new content:
