Throughput Benchmarks (SEQ and RND)
CrystalDiskMark
We are using CrystalDiskMark to benchmark sequential and random throughput of read and write performance. For these NVMe SSDs, we are using the NVMe profile in CrystalDiskMark. This tests SEQ1M Q8T1, SEQ128K Q32T1, RND4K Q32T16, and RND4K Q1T1.
The rated sequential read speed on the addlink S95 2TB SSD is up to 7200MB/s, and in our testing in SEQ1M Q8T1, we are getting above that actually at 7349MB/s of read speed. This puts it above the quoted specification, and thus the SSD is performing strong and right where it should on read performance. At this level, it is very close with even the fastest SSDs, off by only 100MB/s or thereabouts.
The write speed is what really impresses us. The addlink S95 2TB SSD is rated at 6500MB/s but we are getting well above that at 7024MB/s write performance. This actually puts it above every other SSD on this graph in write performance. We have our graph sorted by read speed, but if sorted it by write speed the addlink S95 2TB SSD would be at the very top of the graph. At 7024MB/s write speed, it is performing the fastest we’ve tested yet on SSD write performance, for sequential throughput.
In SEQ128K Q32T1 the addlink 2TB SSD is also performing above its rated read speed here at 7300MB/s. Once again it is the write performance that impresses us. If we sorted this graph by write speed the addlink S95 2TB SSD would again be at the very top of the graph with 7GB/s of write performance. This beats the previous write champion on this graph, the MSI SPATIUM M480.
In RND4K Q32T16 performance we are now testing random reads and writes. We had really good sequential performance, and the very same is true on random performance as well with the addlink S95 2TB SSD. We are getting 4269MB/s which is the third fastest SSD on this graph. But what really stands out, as you can see, is the write performance! The addlink S95 2TB SSD is pulling 5618MB/s write performance, beating absolutely everything here, including the Lexar NM800 PRO which was the previous fastest drive at write performance. This performance advantage is pretty impressive.
In RND4K Q1T1 performance, the addlink S95 2TB SSD is again proving to be a very fast SSD, in read performance, it’s at 82MB/s matching the Netac NV7000-t. The most impressive part though is again the write performance, at 276MB/s it is the fastest SSD on this graph by a good margin. Sorted by write speed, it would be at the top.
