Megan Fox is the voice behind Nitara, the latest addition to Mortal Kombat 1’s growing roster of classic, playable characters. “She’s evil, but she’s also good,” Fox explains in a new trailer for the game that NetherRealm Studios released this week, which features the 37-year-old actress discussing how she brought the vampire character, who was originally introduced in 2002’s Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, to life. “I’ve had a lot of fun doing it, and it’s caused me to, like, be more free with myself,” Fox added.

After almost 17 years, the Vampire of Outworld has graced us with her presence. Megan Fox brings Nitara back to life.

Nitara’s race of vampires hails from the dark and desolate realm of Vaeternus. To survive, they evolved the ability to feed on the blood of other creatures.

The Vaeternians thrived, building a great society. But as their comfort grew, so did their shortsightedness. They overfed on Vaeternus’ creatures, disrupting the natural order. They now starve as it collapses.

It is Nitara’s solemn obligation to deliver her people from hunger and save her race. Vaeternus must survive.
