How does Starfield compare to one of Bethesda’s biggest hits of all time, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim? Pretty good, it seems, as SteamDB can confirm that the new space-faring RPG from Todd Howard managed to achieve a new peak of 330,723 concurrent players on Steam yesterday—a number that substantially exceeds what Skyrim pulled off 12 years ago after its release on November 11, 2011. At the time of this writing, 241,235 players are enjoying Starfield via Valve’s platform, which some say is impressive, being that the game is available for as low as $9.99/month on Microsoft’s Game Pass subscription service.

Starfield is the first new universe in 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4.
