Feeling old yet? This week happens to mark the 20th anniversary of Steam (est. September 12, 2003), and Valve is celebrating the event by gifting the platform’s earliest members with a new badge that they can use to advertise their many years of service. According to a comparison image shared by the SteamDB account, the new badge features the classic, olive green color scheme that Valve used in the earlier versions of its Steam client—something that has since been replaced by a modern UI and what some say is a more pleasant blue.
“In case anyone’s curious about the odd colours, that’s the color scheme for the original Steam UI when it first launched,” explained a poster on an r/Steam thread about how some Steam accounts are now turning 20 years old.
“That shit is older than me,” said another user.
