With Microsoft expected to finalize its acquisition for Activision Blizzard soon in a deal that will see many of its games arrive on Xbox Game Pass, is it even safe to buy Diablo IV or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III these days at anything close to full price? The answer to that seems to be a “yes” for those who want to enjoy the games sooner rather than later, as Activision has taken to X to confirm that neither of these games, which start at $69.99, will be added to Game Pass any time soon. Activision explained that while it expects to begin working with Microsoft this year on bringing games to Xbox Game Pass, the first of these titles won’t arrive until sometime in 2024.

It’s awesome to see anticipation building for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. As we continue to work toward regulatory approval of the Microsoft deal, we’ve been getting some questions whether our upcoming and recently launched games will be available via Game Pass.

While we do not have plans to put Modern Warfare III or Diablo IV into Game Pass this year, once the deal closes, we expect to start working with Xbox to bring our titles to more players around the world. And we anticipate that we would begin adding games into Game Pass sometime in the course of next year.
