RoboCop: Rogue City arrives next week for PC and consoles and Nacon has released a new story trailer ahead of its release. Fans of the original movies have been giving praise for the faithful reproduction of the iconic character, who is voiced by original actor Peter Weller, in a new story that follows the first two movies. Some are already referring to it as a true trilogy ending. While RoboCop: Rogue City does not offer the most cutting-edge graphics it has received positive feedback from fans for its attention to detail and blend of some modern visuals plus an 80s-90s retro feel.

Story Description (per official page):

“_AN ORIGINAL STORY SET IN THE WORLD OF ROBOCOP

The city of Old Detroit has been hit by a crime wave, with a new enemy threatening the peace and order. Your investigation leads you right into the heart of a shadowy conspiracy in an original story that takes place between RoboCop 2 and 3, with striking locations to explore and familiar faces to meet. Peter Weller, the original RoboCop actor, is even back on duty to voice the cybercop.”

Known gameplay issues:

The developers of RoboCop: Rogue City released a free demo back at the beginning of October. Its biggest criticism was shader-related stuttering issues to which Teyon wasted no time in getting a patch out addressing the issue. Aside from graphical glitches such as asset pop-ins or shadow rendering the most common current issue still remains how the game still suffers from significant FPS drops during certain scenes. RoboCop: Rogue City launches for PC, via Steam or Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox X|S on November 2.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
