CES 2024 is only a couple of months off and NVIDIA is now rumored to unveil its next line of GeForce RTX SUPER graphics cards there. Rumors about the return of the RTX SUPER series have been popping up regularly for many weeks now with partial specifications for at least three different models. NVIDIA could unveil what would essentially be a refresh for some of its RTX 40 series as early as January 2024. This latest rumor comes via @kopite7kimi who has had a fairly reliable history of providing information about forthcoming NVIDIA product releases.

The question about a release date, or even announcement surely echos the sentiment of many PC owners who might be considering a GPU purchase with the holidays, and sales, being right around the corner. However, as VideoCardz notes, NVIDIA has made no formal announcement regarding its plans for CES 2024 so anything is possible from an announcement to a launch, or nothing at all, and even though NVIDIA could unveil the RTX 40 SUPER series there, it might simply rely on its board partners to promote the rumored cards.

Per VideoCardz:

“NVIDIA is not a ‘featured exhibitor, but the company will be present and already has three conference rooms booked. However, there is no sign of any major media event yet.”

Rumored specifications for the RTX 40 SUPER series have been accumulating for some time. It is possible they will launch with an MSRP similar to that of their non-SUPER counterpart’s original release and one of the more recent rumors is that they will also feature similar power requirements. Otherwise, each model is expected to have slight increases in memory and/or processing power. There has been some confusion about memory configurations and GPU pairings due to the requirements of each.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
