Does AMD still love AM4? Sure, if the latest rumors involving new X3D chips based on the older Zen 3 architecture are to be believed.

According to the chi11eddog account, AMD is supposedly planning at least two more Ryzen 5000X3D Series processors in the form of the Ryzen 7 5700X3D and Ryzen 5 5500X3D.

The former will supposedly feature 8 cores, 16 threads, boost clocks of up to 4.1 GHz, and 96 MB of L3 cache, while the latter will supposedly feature similar specs, albeit with two less cores.

Here’s a breakdown of these rumored X3D CPUs, per chi11eddog:

  • 5700X3D: 8C/16T, 4.1GHz/3.0GHz, 96MB L3 cache
  • 5500X3D: 6C/12T, 4.0GHz/3.0GHz, 96MB L3 cache

The Ryzen 5000 Series family currently includes only two X3D chips, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and Ryzen 5 5600X3D, while there’s three to be found in the newer Ryzen 7000 Series.

Those would include the 7800X3D, 7900X3D, and 7950X3D, a flagship CPU that offers 16 Zen 4 cores and boost clocks of up to 5.7 GHz.

The 7950X3D offers over 27% faster gaming performance versus the competition in Horizon Zero Dawn at 1080p/high settings, according to AMD.

For those who want to guess how much the Ryzen 7 5700X3D and Ryzen 5 5500X3D might cost, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D launched in April 2022 for $449, while the Ryzen 5 5600X3D launched in July this year for $229.
