AMD is making an announcement of an announcement today, revealing that the Instinct MI300, its next-generation family of data center GPU accelerators, will be unveiled in early December.

According to a press release that the company shared this morning, this event will be live streamed starting at 10 a.m. PT on Wednesday, December 6, and viewers will be able to check in via AMD’s Advancing AI site, as well as its official YouTube channel.

AMD has confirmed that AMD Chair and CEO Dr. Lisa Su will be present at the event, revealing a new product that could very well challenge NVIDIA’s own AI offerings:

AMD Chair and CEO Dr. Lisa Su will be joined by AMD executives, AI ecosystem partners and customers who will discuss how AMD products and software are re-shaping the AI, adaptive and high-performance computing landscape.

In a separate press release that AMD shared today, AMD discussed how it is helping power some of Microsoft’s latest hardware, including the Azure ND MI300x v5 Virtual Machine (VM) series, which, as the name might suggest, includes the new Instinct MI300X accelerator, as well as some of its other VMs, which leverage the company’s 4th Gen EPYC processors.

AMD also took the opportunity to highlight its Ryzen 7000 Series processors, featuring Ryzen AI:

With over 50 systems available now with Ryzen 7000 Series processors with Ryzen AI built in, there are millions of AMD AI PCs available in market. AMD and Microsoft have already jointly enabled Windows Studio Effects on Ryzen AI PCs, and AMD continues to work with software developers, to bring expanding AI workloads and generative AI experiences to consumers.
