The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt may be nearly nine years old now, but CD PROJEKT RED isn’t done with the RPG yet.
Following the release of the RPG’s next-gen update last year, CD PROJEKT RED has revealed that it is revisiting its third Witcher game again, but this time, it’s to implement what is apparently an official mod editor for one of its most acclaimed games.
“We’re thrilled to announce that we’re working on a mod editor for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt!,” the official Witcher account announced this morning.

And here’s what the official Witcher site had to add about the mod editor, which will be available for free for owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC in 2024:
This editor is a reworked version of the REDengine 3 editor that we used to create the game — it will allow you to create your own experiences in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt by making something completely new or editing existing quests and content.
The editor will be available for free for all owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC. We’re planning to make it happen in 2024.
CD PROJEKT RED says that it will be sharing more about its mod editor for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next year.
In other Witcher news, CD PROJEKT RED announced last month that The Witcher: Enhanced Edition and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings would soon feature Apple silicon M1, M2, and macOS Ventura support, expanding its playable platforms.
Support for OS X 10.7.5, OS X 10.8.2, and macOS 10.15 for those games are ending due to new minimum macOS requirements, however.
