The cat has been out of the bag for weeks now that NVIDIA is reportedly planning a GeForce RTX 40 series refresh but there could be more changes happening. According to a post from Board Channels (via VideoCardz), NVIDIA is reportedly halting mass production of its GeForce RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4080 graphics cards. The post also states that the final shipments of these cards, from NVIDIA to its partners, have been made and the add-in-card partners are now awaiting the first batch of the SUPER series cards. At this point, for both, it appears the focus is moving old inventory in order to make room the next round of graphics cards.
It should be noted that NVIDIA, if this rumor turns out to be true, could resume production of these cards/GPUs once the SUPER series has launched. From limited supply chain and manufacturing resources to market demand and competition, there can be a number of factors which could affect a decision to stop or resume manufacturing of various products.
More rumors and specifications:
This rumor follows news from last week that NVIDIA has begun informing its partners about the upcoming line. The three new GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series cards are said to be the RTX 4080 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 4070 SUPER. Another newer rumor has reported that these cards are up to fifteen percent faster, on average, than their non-SUPER counterparts.

Table: The FPS Review
Given all the rumors about the RTX 40 SUPER series, which has all but been officially confirmed, it would make sense that NVIDIA is reportedly halting mass production of its GeForce RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4080 graphics cards. This strategy would make sense so that it could priotize getting product on the shelves by January, when it is also rumored to be launching the new line. The GPU manufacturer will be attending CES 2024 where it allegedly could do an official reveal for its RTX 40 sereies refresh.
