The ETA PRIME channel has shared a look at the Phoenix Edge Z1, a new mini gaming PC that is said to be the very first of its kind to feature an AMD Ryzen Z1 processor.

The Phoenix Edge Z1 can apparently reach scores of up to 4,564 and 1,789 in 3DMark’s Fire Strike and Time Spy tests, respectively, while gaming tests from ETA PRIME suggest the machine offers some “decent performance” for titles that include The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, GTA V, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and Cyberpunk 2077, although some of these will require lower settings than others.

Here are some of the numbers that can be seen in the video:

Originally designed for use in handheld gaming PCs, AMD’s Ryzen Z1 chips can currently be found in devices that include the ASUS ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go.

AMD launched its Ryzen Z1 and Z1 Extreme chips in April 2023, calling them the ultimate high-performance processor for handheld PC gaming consoles:

Featuring up to 8 cores and 16 threads, the Ryzen Z1 Series processors offer breathtaking visuals and, with the efficiency of “Zen 4” architecture, deliver incredible battery life for a truly portable, high-performance gaming experience. With AMD RDNA 3 architecture-based graphics built right in, gamers will have the power to play graphically intensive modern games smoothly. Users can optimize their game play with AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition by utilizing features including AMD Radeon Super Resolution, Radeon Chill, Radeon Image Sharpening, AMD Link4 and more. These features can boost performance with increased frame rates and responsiveness, while helping extend battery life.

ETA PRIME mentioned that a version of the Phoenix Edge Z1 that features the Ryzen Z1 Extreme is also in the works. This version of the chip features 2/4 more cores/threads and a GPU with 8 additional RDNA 3 compute units.
