Netflix has announced that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be available for subscribers beginning December 14, 2023 through the Apple App Store and Google Play, as well as Netflix’s mobile app.

Per Netflix, GTA fans can pre-register to play Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition now, which comprises remastered versions of three of Rockstar’s most beloved games in the series:

  • Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition: Welcome to Liberty City. Where it all began. With a massive and diverse open world, a wild cast of characters from every walk of life, and the freedom to explore at will, Grand Theft Auto III puts the dark, intriguing, and ruthless world of crime at your fingertips.
  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition: Welcome to the 1980s. From the decade of big hair and pastel suits comes the story of one man’s rise to the top of the criminal pile. Grand Theft Auto returns with Tommy Vercetti’s tale of betrayal and revenge in a neon-soaked tropical town full of excess and brimming with possibilities.
  • Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition: It’s the early ’90s. After a couple of cops frame him for homicide, Carl ‘CJ’ Johnson is forced on a journey that takes him across the entire state of San Andreas, to save his family and to take control of the streets.

Netflix goes on to say that subscribers can now enjoy access to over 80 games as part of their benefits, offered at no additional cost:

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition adds to a growing catalog of more than 80 mobile games, with must-play titles across all genres adding further value to all Netflix memberships — including through one of the most iconic series in history, without any ads, in-app purchases, or extra fees.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition originally launched for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC in November 2021, but the launch was a bit of a disaster, marred by graphics bugs and other technical issues that were so bad that they prompted an apology from Rockstar.

The PC version of the game has a “generally unfavorable” score of 49 on Metacritic.
