Cyberpunk 2077 game’s quest director Paweł Sasko took to social media and posted yesterday about an upcoming, unannounced update for the game. Pawel teased fans who quickly began asking questions but did not reveal much except to say that the team had been working in secret for the past few weeks to get it finished. Hopes for a New Game+ feature have previously been shot down though as the developers have said it would be too complex to add so players looking for a different replay experience are still left with just choosing different versions of V for another play-through. The team has said it reveal all in a gameplay stream today and that Update 2.1 will roll out for free for all who own the game on December 5. the same day that the Ultimate Edition gets released.

Per Pawel Sasko (via X):

“We have been grinding in secret for the past weeks on some hot and anticipated additions for #Cyberpunk2077 and I’m proud 2.1 is shipping soon! 🔥

Join us on the RED Stream to learn what we have in store for you. Much love chooms ❤️”

The only thing said in the official reveal is that Update 2.1 will add “new and hotly anticipated gameplay elements”.

One other item that was added to the announcement by the Cyberpunk 2077 game’s quest director came from its Community Director, Marcin Momot. It seems the game is eligible for another category in this year’s The Game Awards and the team is asking for fans to give them support to win best “community support”, which considering the many updates CD PROJEKT RED has already released, plus the new Phantom LIberty DLC, and other support it has given since the game’s launch, it could be strong contender to win this award.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
