Paramount Plus has released the first trailer for Halo the Series: Season 2, confirming that the live-action version of Master Chief will be back for viewing exclusively on Paramount’s streaming service on Thursday, February 8.

Here’s a description of the new season that Paramount shared, which, while brief, suggests that John-117 (Pablo Schreiber) is going to learn a lot more about the Halo, one of the Forerunner’s biggest achievements, in the new season:

Master Chief John-117 leads his team of elite Spartans against the alien threat known as the Covenant. As humanity’s best hope for winning the war, John-117 discovers his deep connection to a mysterious alien structure that holds the key to humankind’s salvation, or its destruction — the Halo.

And while February is still a good amount of weeks away, Paramount has attempted to drive up anticipation for Halo’s next season by making all eight episodes of the first season for free, available now for viewing on YouTube.

The full playlist can be found here, which includes “Contact,” the original series premiere:

“Contact” – In the year 2552, humans on the planet Madrigal have been fighting for independence from Earth, but a fatal encounter with the Alien Covenant complicates things. Master Chief John 117 and his super-soldier “Spartans” join the fight. After the battle, Master Chief heads to his home planet of Reach with a Madrigal survivor and a mysterious object he discovered on the planet. But a controversial order has John questioning his mission, and himself.

“Halo is too derivative of better science-fiction series to emerge a fully-formed elite, but glimmers of promise and faithfulness to the source material signal it’s not out of the fight just yet,” reads a critics consensus for the show.
