Play, stream, and share with your friends…but not through AMD.

As part of a blog post that was published today about the new AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition driver and how it ushers in a redesigned UI to make “gaming even easier,” AMD announced that it is ending support for AMD Link, a free app for Android, iOS, and other platforms that allows Radeon users to turn their PCs into a personal cloud gaming system, enabling smartphones, tablets, and other devices to play demanding games, and even partake in four-way multiplayer, via streaming.

Here’s the word from AMD, which explained that it is ending support for AMD Link because it doesn’t want to compete with developers:

We originally launched AMD Link at a time when there were few alternative remote gaming solutions for Radeon graphics users. Today, there are many options available for users to stream their PC content to other devices such as Steam Link or Parsec. AMD’s role is to enable and support developers, not compete with them. As such, we are ending support for AMD Link and focusing our resources on other core capabilities and features that benefit users. We will also continue to support developers with our SDKs such as the AMD Advanced Media Framework that allow them to enable streaming functionality within their solutions.

AMD clarified that it will be ending support for the AMD Link software application with a future AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition driver release, although no version or time frame was given.

Here are two videos that show off AMD Link, including a video from the Robeytech Live channel that shows off how the software can be used to play Starfield and other demanding titles at higher quality settings and frame rates on devices that include the ASUS ROG Ally:
