How much money is Rockstar and Take-Two going to make with Grand Theft Auto VI? A crap ton, it seems, as Guinness World Records has confirmed that the game’s first trailer alone has already drawn a ridiculous number of eyeballs since its release Monday evening, leading to at least three new world records.

Here’s are the world records that Rockstar has smashed with its first trailer for GTA VI so far, per Guinness:

  • GTA VI’s first trailer has become the most viewed videogame reveal on YouTube in 24 hours with 90,421,491 views.
  • Our first look at revamped Vice City has also become the most liked videogame trailer on YouTube with 8.9 million likes in the first 24 hours alone.
  • Outside the videogame bubble, it’s also become most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours (non-music), surpassing the seemingly untouchable Mr. Beast.

At the time of this writing, the GTA VI trailer has 109 million views, and it remains #1 on Trending, according to YouTube’s list of most popular videos.

Take-Two has confirmed that GTA VI will be released for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2025, although nothing about the PC version, which is inevitable, has been shared yet.

Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games, in a press release that complemented the trailer. “We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”
