Cat Quest is free to claim from the Epic Games Store until 12/29 at 11:00 a.m. (ET) as part of Epic Game’s ongoing mystery game giveaways.

Here’s a description of Cat Quest from developer The Gentlebros and publisher Kepler Interactive, who say that the game is similar to Blizzard Entertainment’s iconic action RPG, Diablo, but with cute animals instead of monsters and demons:

An adorable and accessible isometric 2D action-RPG, Cat Quest sends you on an epic journey to defeat Drakoth, the meowsterious evil-doer who catnapped your sister, and uncover your destiny as the Dragonblood, the last of a long-lost race of dragonslayers.

Explore a massive overworld map, complete dungeons for epic loot, take on challenging quests, level up your spells and save the world of Felingard from certain catastrophe in Cat Quest. Prepare for the ultimate catventure!

Cat Quest III, a third installment of the franchise, is set for release in 2024 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

“The Purribean is no place for scallywags, you will need all nine lives to survive as you embark on an epic quest for adventure seeking a legendary and powerful treasure,” reads a description for the upcoming game.

“Unleash your inner purrivateer as you set sail in pursuit of the legendary North Star. Embrace the life of a daring pirate treasure seeker, unearthing clues and relishing the thrill of genuine exploration,” it continues. “Step into a world where the winds of curiosity guide your sails and every discovery is a triumphant meowment.”

Cat Quest II doesn’t appear to be on the Epic Games Store yet, but PC players can find it on Steam with a 67% discount at the time of this writing, including a free demo.

“The Gentlebros is an award winning studio responsible for the popular Cat Quest franchise (PC, consoles and mobile)!” the developer writes. “Made up of veterans of the game industry, we aim to create worlds for people to have fun in!”
