A new Burnout game could be right around the corner as developers from one of the last games are tempting fans with a new post. Stellar Entertainment, who has worked on Need for Speed: Unbound, Need for Speed Remastered, and Burnout Paradise: Remastered, has posted a cryptic message that could signal it is working on another Burnout game now. The last non-remastered game to be released was in 2008 which, in turn, ended up becoming the project that Stellar Entertainment worked on with the 10th-anniversary edition of Paradise that was released in 2018. Their post jokingly says, “POV: YOU’RE ABOUT TO BE REAR ENDED” while also adding that “And the bosses *still* haven’t issued any take downs!”

Job posts and game updates

Adding further credence to the possibility that a new Burnout game could be in development is that Stellar Entertainment’s official page has a couple of interesting updates on it. The first post is at the top of the page, which by the way also coincidentally correlates with the #WereHiring in the above tease, and reads:

“Current Expedition: Accepting new crew members

AAA arcade racing title

Disrupting the racing scene

Built in Unreal 5 for Gen 5 consoles and PC”

Right below this post is another one alluding that a new game is approaching release and it says “Secret Mission: Approaching launch readiness” and includes a SE classified logo on it. While none of these posts directly name the Burnout franchise in any way, and it is pure conjecture to believe it could be the game being hinted at, there is a reasonable possibility it is given Stellar Entertainment’s ties to the franchise. Some fans have been asking for a remaster of the 3rd game as well. One other possibility is that the studio could be working on another Need for Speed game also since both franchises share a bit of history between their development teams. In any case, it’s apparent the developer is working on at least one project which could be announced soon.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
