Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and its 2023 sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, has begun development on a new, first-person Mandalorian game, according to an online report. The game reportedly takes place during a time period in which “the Galactic Empire is dominating across the galaxy,” which seems to imply that Din Djarin—the star of Disney’s Mandalorian series—may have no role in the game. (All three seasons of The Mandalorian take place after Return of the Jedi.)

Game features are said to include:

  • Jetpack maneuvers (e.g., dashing, boost sliding)
  • “Very fast-paced” gameplay
  • Health can regenerate with successive kills
  • Wrist rocket, grapple hook, and other weapons
  • Visor can be used to tag enemies, bounties
  • Linear levels (e.g., not an open-world game)

ETA and game modes:

…it’s unclear when the game will be released, it was said we’re still a year or two away, at the very least. It’s currently unclear if the game will have a multiplayer experience or not.

Insider-Gaming correcting its original report:

Sources have since revealed that [Mohammad] Alavi was not directing this game, and instead was directing a canceled Apex Legends game, which was first reported by Bloomberg.

Bloomberg on Alavi’s involvement with EA’s canceled Titanfall game:

The canceled project, code-named TFL or Titanfall Legends, was a single-player game set in the universe shared by the Apex Legends and Titanfall games. It was directed by veteran designer Mohammad Alavi until he left the company in early 2022. Although the game hadn’t been advertised, EA had hinted at it several times.
