SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 7900 GRE 16GB NITRO+
SAPPHIRE will be launching three new Radeon RX 7900 GRE SKUs, one in its NITRO+ line, another in its PURE line (which is an all-white build), and finally the PULSE line. The NITRO+ will retail for $599, the PURE for $569 and the PULSE for $549. We are reviewing the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ RX 7900 GRE 16GB Gaming OC model today, which is SAPPHIRE’s highest-end offering of the 7900 GRE. This means it does have a very high factory overclock, and the highest overclock out of the bunch.
The SAPPHIRE RX 7900 GRE NITRO+ is clocked at 2052MHz game clock, an increase of 9% over the reference 1880MHz game clock speed. It is clocked at 2391MHz boost clock, an increase of 7% over the reference 2245MHz boost clock. It also has its power tuned, and of course runs all the best VRMs and hardware, plus cooling, meaning it should automatically boost higher than normal. This is important because the clock speed of the 7900 GRE will be an important factor in its performance overall.
The SAPPHIRE RX 7900 GRE NITRO+ comes with all the bells and whistles, it is a 3-slot video card using SAPPHIRE’s Tri-X Cooling technology. It has a dual UEFI BIOS with a software option to change between the BIOSs, it has an ARGB light bar and ARGB connector on board and supports Fan Quick Connector and Fan Health Check. It is backed by a digital power design using 14-phase digital power and 980A GPU power delivery with high-performance conductive polymer aluminum capacitors. It routes all of this through a 14-layer high TG PCB with 2oz copper and has input power fuse protection.
The entire video card is encased in a full metal shroud with a cold rolled steel frame. It uses an angular velocity hybrid fan blade design with quick connect two ball bearing fans, for all three. It has a v-shape fin for its aluminum heatsink and 5x composite heatpipes. It also has memory and VRAM cooling. Power is connected via two standard PCIe 8-pin power connectors. For display ports, it has 2x HDMI and 2x DisplayPort. The video card measures 12.5″ inches in length, almost 5″ inches in width and 2.5″ in height, 3-slot.
The SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 7900 GRE NITRO+ uses SAPPHIRE’s NITRO Glow ARGB. On the top, is a fully customizable ARGB light in the TriXX software. There is also an RGB SAPPHIRE logo that lights up on the backside. Otherwise, the video card has a nice smooth metal finish on the front and looks quite industrial in your system.
SAPPHIRE TriXX
The SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 7900 GRE NITRO+ supports the TriXX software. In it, you can view the specs of your hardware and switch between the two BIOS versions that are on this video card. It also has a built-in monitoring suite, which gives detailed information live. It also has Fan Health Check built-in, and of course, the RGB controls and supports TriXX Boost.
