Nicolas Cage, the Academy Award-winning actor whose credits include Face/Off, The Rock, Leaving Las Vegas, and other classic films, has been tapped to star in a new live-action series for Prime Video based on Spider-Man Noir, MGM+ and Amazon have announced. Echoing the noir-themed version of Spider-Man that was first introduced to Marvel Comics fans in December 2008, the new show will tell the story of an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage) who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one-and-only superhero in New York, set in the 1930s.
