Intel Core i9-14900KS Hits 9.1 GHz on ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Apex Encore Motherboard

The Core i9-14900KS, Intel’s newly released, $699 Special Edition processor that advertises a max turbo frequency of up to 6.2 GHz out of the box, can reach speeds that are way higher than that in the hands of experienced overclockers, according to a new announcement from ASUS about how four world records have been set for the new CPU with its ROG Maximus Z790 Apex Encore motherboard. Those would include an attempt from overclocking expert Elmor, who pushed the processor to a blazing-fast 9,117.75 MHz.

The new records:

  • Overclocking expert Elmor achieved a world-record clock frequency of 9117.75 MHz on the Intel Core i9-14900KS
  • Overclocking expert Safedisk completed PiFast in just 6.79 seconds, SuperPI 1M in 3.768 seconds, and PYPrime 32B in 97.596 seconds
