DLSS 3 Frame Generation Performance
On this page, we are going to evaluate the smoothness advantage that DLSS 3 Frame Generation adds to the games that support it. *Note* that while we are reporting the average FPS (Frames Per Second) on the graph, to represent the advantage, this is not really indicative of what Frame Generation does, as it does not contribute to the input of the game, it doesn’t factor into actual performance, but rather motion smoothness. It’s not a performance booster, it’s a smoothness booster. Please keep this in mind as you read the graphed results. 
Horizon Forbidden West
In Horizon Forbidden West we can enable Quality DLSS Upscaling as well as DLSS 3 Frame Generation. We can see that at native 4K performance starts out at 69, and then moving to DLSS Quality improves the game performance by 32%. When we enable DLSS 3 Frame Generation the game smoothness increases to a reported framerate of 117, which is a further 29% increase in smoothness.
Alan Wake 2
In Alan Wake 2 the framerate starts out at 54FPS at 4K with max settings, and enabling Quality DLSS improves performance by 61%. When we enable Quality DLSS Upscaling and DLSS 3 Frame Generation the smoothness increases to 112, a 29% improvement in the smoothness onscreen.
In this graph above, we have Ray Tracing enabled at the High setting at 4K. The native framerate starts out at 30FPS and enabling Quality DLSS improves performance by 67%. When we enable Quality DLSS Upscaling and DLSS 3 Frame Generation it rises to 80.5, a smoothness increase of 61%.
Dying Light 2
In Dying Light 2 at 4K performance starts out at 101.1 FPS, and with Quality DLSS that improves to 148 FPS an increase of 46%. When we enable Quality DLSS and DLSS 3 Frame Generation the smoothness increases onscreen to 165, a 12% increase in smoothness.
In the graph above now we have Ray Tracing enabled at 4K. Performance starts out at 48FPS in native resolution and increases to 83.7FPS an increase of 73% in performance. When we enable Quality DLSS and DLSS 3 Frame Generation the smoothness increases by 39%.
Cyberpunk 2077
In Cyberpunk 2077 the performance starts out at 54FPS in native resolution at 4K and with Quality DLSS that bumps up to 71FPS a 32% performance improvement. When we enable Quality DLSS and DLSS 3 Frame Generation the smoothness increases onscreen by 19%.
In the graph above we have Ray Tracing enabled at 4K, so performance is unplayable until we use DLSS. Enabling DLSS Quality improves performance by 88%. When we enable Quality DLSS and DLSS 3 Frame Generation the smoothness onscreen improves by 43%.
