Venom: The Last Dance, a third (and, seemingly, final) installment of the superhero film series from Columbia Pictures that stars Tom Hardy as the symbiote-wearing anti-hero and Spider-Man villain, will be coming exclusively to movie theaters and premium formats, including IMAX, this October, according to a new official trailer for the film that Sony Pictures Entertainment and Marvel Entertainment uploaded to their respective YouTube channels today. Venom (2018) made $856 million at the worldwide box office, while its sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, ended up with $506 million worldwide.
The film’s cast includes:
- Tom Hardy (Mad Max: Fury Road, The Dark Knight Rises)
- Chiwetel Ejiofor (Children of Men, Doctor Strange)
- Juno Temple (Atonement, Killer Joe)
- Stephen Graham (Snatch, Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales)

I haven't watched any of the Venom movies and I'm a Marvel fan. Venom's voice sounds so corny to me that I just couldn't get past that.
We've enjoyed them but they are pretty corny, especially the last one. On the other hand I got really bored with the character in the Spider-man comics and found the goofiness here a bit more refreshing. Not saying great by any means but they have some moments. One thing they did do though is inspire me to read up on some of the more recent Venom comics which have had some pretty cool cosmic-origin story lines that would be neat to seen in film but I doubt that'll ever happen.
There were rumors last week that this announcement would happen but they also added some story details. Basically it has some ties to the end credits scene of the last movie but also the one in No Way Home. Venom decides that Spider-man must die, somehow ends up in the past and is going to kill a young Peter Parker before he becomes Spider-man but then changes his mind once he meets him. However, another group of symbiotes isn't happy with this and decide they'll do the job instead and at that point Brock/Venom are left having to save Parker.

Yep, I was all in with the initial dozen issues of WoS by Todd McFarlane but not long after that I completely checked out with the character other than getting updates from friends who were fans. I don't remember what the catalyst was but around a year or two ago something peaked my interest in the origin of symbiote storyline and I found some sites where I could read those issues online and was somewhat impressed. The story spans with cameos, full issues, across multiple years and different books but once I was able to discern the order to read and find them, it was fun.
