Starfield’s latest update has arrived, bringing what developer Bethesda Game Studios says are several exciting new features that help players experience the Settled Systems in a whole new way, including new Trackers Alliance missions, new melee weapon tiers, the ability to craft ammo, and more, but not everybody is happy with it, according to Starfield’s Steam page, which received 168 new negative reviews today, further contributing to its “mixed” rating. Some players aren’t thrilled with the addition of Creation Club, which is basically a store for paid mods, while others are annoyed about how the second Trackers Alliance mission isn’t free and must be purchased with credits. (Starfield Premium Edition owners have been given 1,000 Creation Credits to celebrate the launch of Creations.)

Creation Credits pricing, per Steam:

  • 500 ($4.99)
  • 1,000 ($9.99)
  • 2,700 ($24.99)
  • 5,500 ($49.99)

The new update introduces:

  • Creations menu/store in Starfield for buying (and claiming) mods
  • Creation Kit, the official toolkit for Starfield, now available to download for free on Steam
  • Join the Trackers Alliance in a free new mission (The StarJacker)
  • New Trackers Alliance missions will be available periodically through the Creations menu (additional one available now for credits)
  • Scan and confront citizens of the Settled Systems as part of a new Bounty Scanner System
  • Improved tiers for melee weapons
  • Craft ammo at Industrial Workbenches
