The Ryzen 9 5900XT and Ryzen 7 5800XT, two new Ryzen 5000 Series CPUs based on AMD’s older Zen 3 architecture, will be launching alongside the first Ryzen 9000 Series “Zen 5” processors on July 31 as part of red team’s commitment to continuing its support for the AM4 platform, according to new information shared by distribution sources. Both of these chips have already been listed at select retailers, including B&H Photo, which will be opening pre-orders for the CPUs at the end of the month.

From a report:

  • “We’ve learned through our sources close to distribution that AMD has put a July 31 sales embargo on these CPUs.”
  • “This means that there are now six processors with the same launch date (six because we include the next-gen 9950K 9900X, 9700X, and 9600X).”
  • “…we can confirm that these SKUs are listed with the same sales embargo as the Ryzen 9000 series.”
  • “…B&H Photo Video now lists the 5000XT with a preorder date set for July 31.”

AMD said of its Zen 3 generation of desktop parts back in 2020:

Offering up to 16 cores, 32 threads and 72 MB of cache in the top-of-the-line AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors dominate in heavily threaded workloads and power efficiency, while the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X processor offers up to a 26% generational uplift in gaming performance. With extensive improvements throughout the core including a unified 8-core complex with direct access to 32MB L3 cache, the new AMD “Zen 3” core architecture delivers a 19% generational increase in instructions per cycle (IPC), the largest since the introduction of “Zen” processors in 2017.
