Fallout: London, a DLC-sized mod for Fallout 4 that will allow players to visit the previously unexplored post-apocalyptic environment of London, adding unique quests, voice-acted characters, original music, and more to the 2015 action RPG from Bethesda Game Studios, will be released on Wednesday, July 24, Team FOLON has announced. This project was originally meant to launch on April 25, but it had to be delayed due to Bethesda’s next-gen update, which broke various aspects of the mod, according to a video update that the team shared earlier that month.
This mod will be available for players on:
- GOG (via GOG Galaxy App, GOG.com)
- Steam (requires downgrading to pre-next-gen version of Fallout 4)
- Note: Fallout 4 and all of its DLCs (or the Game of the year edition) are required
From a report:
- “In a somewhat cryptic but wholly appropriate message on the game’s Discord, Team FOLON’s lead project manager Dean Carter shared a track from the game’s soundtrack titled ‘I Just Can’t Wait (For Tomorrow).’”
- “Though fans seemed skeptical that the message was meant to convey the game’s imminent release, Carter tells Inverse that, ‘Unless nuclear war happens, yes,’ July 25 will be the day Fallout: London finally drops.”
- “The project isn’t your typical fan-made mod but a full-on expansion. The game’s post-apocalyptic version of London was built from the ground up, with Team FOLON estimating it’s the size of Fallout 4’s Commonwealth and the Far Harbor DLC combined.”
- “The mod will also feature a brand new main quest, dozens of side quests, characters, factions, weapons, music, art assets, and original voice acting from big-name actors Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate 3, Warframe), several former Doctor Whos, and even a former U.K. Speaker Of The House.”
Team FOLON’s latest update from April:
Mod description:
Fallout: London is a DLC-sized mod for Bethesda’s Fallout 4. Distinct from the base game, the mod will allow the player to visit the previously unexplored post-apocalyptic environment of London. In a divergence from previous official titles in the series, Fallout: London is not set in America. This will allow the player to explore an entirely new setting, interact with new post-war cultures and societies, and see a world distinct from the Americana of the mainline games. It also allows the player to explore pre-war European history and the effects the Resource Wars had on the class-structured society of pre-war Britain.
The Fallout: London development team is a collection of both amateur and industry professionals that are working to create a project for the community with a shared vision. The project is a chance for the team to be creative and try new things that they otherwise couldn’t when constrained to the confines of the industry. It is a true labour of love for all involved.

I know. .
I feel like I just played it.
And then I remembered that I have moved twice and bought a house since then...
All that said, I could get into this if it is not too expensive (or too short)

It's a free community mod for Fallout 4.

Yup. I just "bought" mine from GoG. Went through the whole checkout process and everything. Didn't cost a single cent other than for the electricity to download the file.

Seems like they are mainly pushing the GOG version, which is a much easier install process. For the Steam version of the mod you have to jump through hoops.

Oooh. That's even better.
Free is my favorite price!
I'm considering buying fallout 4 on gog just so the mod installs easily. Lol

For games I've liked, I've double-dipped with Steam and GOG (Fallout games, Elder scrolls games, etc). I then download the game files and back it up so that I do not lose that game file. BTW Fallout 3 installs better from GOG than from Steam (and Fallout 4). I love Steam, but I have found GOG to be easier to use in many cases.

Don't underestimate the cost of "free" stuff.
Big issue with this mod - Fallout 4 has recently had an update that makes it playable on modern systems, but this update is not compatible with Fallout London.
Stopped me in my tracks when I went to install it.

strange because they delayed the release of the mod so they could fix it to work with the patch.

I might've stumbled across old notes while trying to figure out how to install it, if that's the case!
Nope, it's the broken version of the game. Zero support for ultrawides and runs like arse.
Perhaps they'll update it sometime soon to work with the current version of Fallout 4.
