Halle Berry, the American actress partially known for playing Storm in various X-Men films for what was 20th Century Fox, including X-Men: Days of Future Past and the original 2002 X-Men movies from director Brian Singer, would have been open to reprising her character for Marvel Studios’ new Deadpool & Wolverine film, but there was one problem: Ryan Reynolds never called. Berry, 58, shared the news in a recent interview, telling a publication that she had been approached for a return by Reynolds’ wife, actress Blake Lively, but that the Deadpool star himself never contacted her.
Berry said:
- “[Berry said, when asked if there had ever been talks about her returning for the movie]: “No.”
- “Blake [Lively] asked me one time, I ran into her at a Marc Jacobs fashion show, and she said, ‘Would you ever be in my husband’s movie as Storm?'”
- “I said, ‘Yeah, if he asked me,’ but he never asked me.”
The actress seemingly hinting at a return in May 2023:

A roundup of Storm scenes from the X-Men films:
Marvel.com on Storm:
Ororo Munroe, AKA Storm, is one of the most famous and powerful mutants on the planet. A stalwart member of the X-Men with the ability to control the elements, Storm has also been worshipped as a goddess, Queen of Wakanda, and as a member of both the Avengers and the Fantastic Four. She is one of the X-Men’s most senior leaders.

Anyhow, anyone who's ever watched these movies can instantly grasp they mostly only try to feature cameos and characters that have largely been left untouched, or at least forgotten about over time and Storm definitely does not fall into that category. I'm not saying that there are not exceptions but its mostly true.
I have a feeling that if Storm had been used it would've been a different version than Singer's because they have often tried to keep characters closer to the comics (except for some intentional jokes in this movie).
It's one of the things I love about the Deadpool movies, to some extent they're like course corrections for the X-Men films.
Yeah but... any excuse to call Halle Berry - you gotta take that
Not gonna lie, a Deadpool/Storm-Monster's Ball alt-universe spoof could've been pretty hilarious.
