Windows 11 users may want to avoid KB5043145 (OS Builds 22621.4249 and 22631.4249), as several reports are suggesting that Microsoft’s latest update, which was released on September 26, introduces major problems to the company’s operating system. In addition to BSODs (Blue Screens of Death) and GSODs (Green Screens of Death), some users say that their mouse and keyboard ports have stopped working, while others are complaining about how their WiFi settings are now missing. One of the BSODs that KB5043145 may prompt can be seen below.
Windows 11 users told me that they’re unable to use their mouse and keyboard after they updated to KB5043145. After the Windows 11 update, some people have experienced WiFi disappearing from the system settings. After installing Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5043145), WSL2 stopped working on AMD systems.

We frequently test using the latest versions/updates, and now I can't trust that it to know if it's a hardware issue, or software issue

I guess keyboard / mouse ports mean PS/2 ports right? I have not seen a PS2 mouse in a decade if not more. Heck, I have not seen a MB that still had separate ports for mouse and a keyboard.
Do they not test at all before pushing these things out anymore?
Which is exactly what we were saying during the entirety of the Win10 era. I do recall hearing that at one point, they had gotten rid of the most of the people doing QA on this stuff, and were forcing the programmers to test their own code, within the same amount of time or less. Yeah, I'm sure that's a lot more efficient and produces better results than having dedicated testing staff. Smart plan there Microsoft.

Well hardware get's more complex and software has to follow, this will lead inevitably to issues, you can also see this on the gaming side, games these days require tons of updates after launch to fix all the issues, too many hardware combos to reasonably try.
Still MS should make a lean windows OS that just works base version, and can then add random crap to whomever wants it.

But they never will. The entirety of the tech world these days believes that they know better than users what users want, and if they only force their unwanted shovel-ware on the users, the users will eventually learn to love it, and crave more, and eventually even pay a monthly subscription fee for it.
It's baked into the business model by pretty much every last one of them. They have zero incentive to not force their unwanted crap on you.
We are now seeing this with AI making its way into every damn product under the sun.
They all want to you get used to and learn to love their AI implementation so that they can be the kings of AI in the future, but that will never happen if you never try it, so they force it on you. They don't care that you don't want it.
This whole industry is broken. The whole theory of a capitalist economy is that businesses are supposed to fight over us, and beat each-other at better producing what we want, resulting in better more desirable products at lower prices over time. Turns out that's not profitable enough, so instead they try filthy shit like finding niches they don't have to compete with anyone else in, so they can crank up the price, or making us the product instead of the customer.
The whole tech industry needs a reboot. We need to start from scratch (or at least from a snapshot of ~2007) so we can set it right.
