The Thing: Remastered, a faithful restoration of the 2002 survival horror shooter based on what some might consider to be one of the greatest sci-fi horror films ever, is on track to deliver what Nightdive Studios says are its most impressive visual upgrades to date, according to a new gameplay trailer that the studio released today. The remaster, which advertises not only improved visuals (e.g., models, textures, and environments), but also new dynamic lighting and 4K resolution at 144 FPS, will be releasing digitally on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam later this year. Next year will mark the 43rd anniversary of John Carpenter’s 1982 film, which received a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release in September 2021.
The Thing: Remastered is a faithful restoration of the cult-classic 2002 third-person survival horror shooter game inspired by Universal Pictures’ genre-defining 1982 film, The Thing. Nightdive Studios has upgraded this horrifying classic for the modern era through its proprietary KEX Engine for play on current-generation gaming devices up to a 4K resolution at 120FPS. Improvements to character models, textures, and animations have been hand-crafted by Nightdive Studios, with the implementation of advanced 3D rendering for updated lighting and atmospheric effects — for a suspenseful and disgustingly detailed remaster that reanimates the thrilling game for modern audiences.

I guess still no update on the IP rights situation for the No One Lives Forever series. Nightdive was ready to remaster those games ages ago.

Could've sworn I saw something in the last year or two that this has been greenlit but I could be wrong.
Otherwise, can't wait till this game is release. One of my all-time favorites and I consider it canon and a true sequel to the 1981 movie.

Oh I loved me some NOLF back in the day. I don't know why they didn't make more sequels. I know the original 2 games have been going through IP / ownership hell for a decade +
