0x114, a new microcode update for Core Ultra 200S series processors that has been in the works at Intel, is expected to deliver significantly improved gaming performance for the new lineup of CPUs with up to 8 next-gen Performance-cores (P-cores) based on the Arrow Lake architecture, according to reports prompted by discussions on the ASUS ROG forums. Word of the new update, which is said to be coming “pretty soon,” comes a month after Robert Hallock (VP and General Manager, Client AI and Technical Marketing at Intel) told a publication that the launch of Intel’s latest CPUs could have gone better, but that firmware and software updates would be on the way for improved performance. See below for the original word from the ASUS ROG forum’s Zurvv, as well as what Hallock had to say about Arrow Lake’s debut.

If this is the official update from Intel, we have it on good authority that performance restoration from this patch will be significant and perhaps more than just a few percentage points, bringing Arrow Lake gaming performance in line with Intel’s initial launch reveal claims.

I'll be re-testing all of Arrow Lake soon, for an upcoming review, I'm trying to get ahold of this microcode, as a Beta BIOS, or at least find out when it's available for the motherboards I have. My goal would be to benchmark with it, hopefully that will work out.
