Join Discussion →AC games are great.. wait 6 months to 1 year and you can get the mega gold edition with all expansions for like 30 bucks and they generally are fun to me.
It's going to flop. It won't flop as hard as Concord, but it will flop none the less.
Yeah nothing like immersing yourself in Japanese history by becoming a giant bumbling black dude rampaging through Japan, whose only claim to being a historical figure turned out to be a fabrication by a fraud.
In Origin you played as an Egyptian, in Odyssey you played as a Greek, in Valhalla you played as a Viking. Why then the sudden need to change?
I don't understand, you point out three changes then ask why the sudden need to change? Huh?
The new release date for Assassin's Creed's release places it on the anniversary of the Aum Shinrikyo subway attacks.
Nice job Ubisoft.
No, I point out that you always played a native of the land. And before you say yeah but Valhalla actually takes place in England, the Viking raids on the British islands are well documented historical facts. It's not that one viking might or might not have passed through that one time, let's base the entire setting and story on that.
Wouldn't it be the exact job of sensibility consultants to avoid situations like this? Clearly the only sensibilities they care or know about are their own.
Oh man I want to change my job to be a sensibility consultant. I bet they make bank
If we stopped doing things on days that something bad happened then we wouldn't have any days left to do anything.
This excuse only takes you so far. Ubisoft has made a number of cultural missteps with this game and Japanese culture.
You'd think. The problem is that they hired SBI more than likely given that SBI is packed with ex-Ubisoft employees and the two have a long history together. SBI has proven time and time again that its incompetent.
Apparently youtube are now deleting Japanese videos critical of the game as "hate speech". While their official twix account blocks everyone who is critical. When public opinion is so much against you wouldn't it be better to address it instead of trying to ignore it?
Ubisoft is running at a cliff edge and punches everyone who tries to stop them.
At this point my only concern is that the IPs I care about land somewhere where they are properly utilized and not as live service slop.
