EVGA, the computer hardware company partially known for exiting the GPU business in September 2022 after NVIDIA engaged in what its leaders alleged was “disrespectful treatment,” has closed its official forums after many years of service, according to a new community update that can be found on the home page of forums.evga.com, one that thanks forum members for their contributions over the years and how everyone can continue to talk about EVGA at reddit instead.
“Responding to the feedback from our valued customers and in light of Reddit’s widespread popularity, EVGA would like to encourage its community to transition to Reddit,” the message reads. “As of this announcement, our existing forums will be read only and our team will actively engage with customers on Reddit threads moving forward.”
“EVGA and our Moderators would like to thank all its forum members for the years of posts bringing together a great community of PC Enthusiast, and we hope to continue this community at its new home on Reddit,” the message continues before linking to EVGA’s official subreddit, which can be found here.
The shuttering of EVGA’s official forums comes almost exactly a year after the company introduced its SuperNOVA 1000W/850W Gold FTW Series, which, according to EVGA’s press site, was the last product that it alerted the public on.
“Designed to support current and future standards, the EVGA SuperNOVA 1000W/850W Gold FTW Series is fully-compliant with ATX12V V3.0 and PCIe Gen 5.0 standards,” EVGA says of the PSU lineup. “This means you can use these power supplies with your current system or the system you want to build. More to the point, these power supplies are built to support up to 235% total power excursion and respond significantly faster to transient spikes, ensuring your card and system stay safe and fully powered at all times.”
“We’ve had a great partnership with EVGA over the years and will continue to support them on our current generation of products,” Bryan Del Rizzo (director of global public relations for GeForce at NVIDIA) told the media in September 2022 when the company revealed that it’d be cutting ties with green team. “We wish [CEO] Andrew [Han] and our friends at EVGA all the best.”
