A remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Bethesda Game Studios’ 2006 action RPG, will be revealed very soon and launch as early as next month, according to new rumors and corroborating reports that surfaced online today.
Per NateTheHate2, a leaker who has been recognized by some for getting the date of the Nintendo Switch 2 announcement correct:
[The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake is coming] either this month or next month. Release is likely to be sooner than the original June target; but still working to get details on an updated release date.
As for the possibility of an April release, that information comes by way of VGC’s sources, which have claimed that the reveal will be coming in “the coming weeks”:
Nate claims the game will likely release before June, while sources have told VGC it could arrive as soon as next month. The Oblivion remake is reportedly “fully remade” with Unreal Engine 5, with six reworked gameplay systems: stamina, sneaking, blocking, archery, hit reaction and HUD.
“The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition presents one of the best RPGs of all time like never before,” reads a description for the deluxe version of the game. “Step inside the most richly detailed and vibrant game-world ever created. With a powerful combination of freeform gameplay and unprecedented graphics, you can unravel the main quest at your own pace or explore the vast world and find your own challenges.”

They are making TESVI supposedly. This is probably outsourced. I have no problem with it as long as they don't mess it up.
The devil is in the details. They're messing with some of my favorite systems. This could be good or it might suck. I just know that trying to cram 20 years worth of mods to modernize the original (plus all DLS, of course) is no longer worth the effort ... at least for me. I've put in my 1000 hours (or thereabout). In fact, just last weekend I reinstalled ... played a few hours and ... let's just say that itch has been scratched.
I'm probably not the target audience for this remake.
I haven't played Oblivion since 2013 (or Skyrim since 2017), so I might check this out. But it depends on the pricing, I'm not paying 60 or 70 for an old game. It needs to be sub €40 for me to even think about it.
Ah Bethesda… re-releasing the same games for profit.
I think I'll wait for the The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake Remastered RTX Remix Anniversary Extra Special with one more feature edition. Ought to be out after the 4th or 5th version from this one.
