The developer behind Alien: Rogue Incursion has announced that it will be releasing a non-VR edition for PC and PS5. The game, which per PlayTracker has sold just over 32K copies since being released last December. Survios has said the new version, titled “Part One Evolved Edition“, will include improved visuals and deadlier xenomorphs. Alien franchise fans who may not be into VR gaming might want to check this one out, as it does, at least slightly, have some Alien Isolation vibes with stealth, limited combat options, and scarce supplies.

“As a team that truly loves Alien, we’re incredibly proud of the immersive original story we’ve told with Alien: Rogue Incursion, Following our great start on VR platforms, we’re excited to bring the Evolved Edition to PC and PS5 later this year so that fans of Alien can experience Zula’s journey wherever they prefer to play.”

Announced last spring, Alien: Rogue Incursion is a single-player action/horror shooter set in a standalone story. Players take on the role of Colonial Marine Zula Hendricks, who, along with her synthetic partner Davis 01, embarks on a mission seeking out what has happened to a squad gone missing at a research facility. Familiar tools of the trade, such as the good old pulse rifle and eerily pinging motion tracker, are on hand as Zula explores LV-354 to uncover the mysteries that Gemini Exoplanet Solutions have been hiding and its ties to Weyland-Yutani.

Alien: Rogue Incursion – Part One: Evolved Edition will climb and crawl its way onto PC and PS5 on September 30, 2025, just in time for Halloween, at $29.99 for the standard game or $39.99 for the deluxe edition that includes the standard game, blue camo armor and weapon skins, and an in-game artbook. The developers have gone on to explain that the reasoning behind the name change is that a second part is in the works.

Description (per official site):

“Zula’s Fight Begins Here: Part One of this gripping two-part story thrusts you into the violent world of Alien, where you will uncover the secrets lurking within the GES (Gemini Exoplanet Solutions) facility on LV-354, the enigmatic planet Purdan. This installment stands alone as a complete story yet leaves you hanging on a thrilling cliffhanger, eager to dive deeper into Zula’s unfolding story in Part Two, where she will face new challenges and deadlier enemies.”

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
