NVIDIA’s RTX Spark is getting a wide berth of support from the industry as more publishers announce their support and Windows on ARM gains traction. NVIDIA has been working to ensure support for its custom ARM-based package powering the RTX Spark, which features Blackwell graphics. It previously managed to get Xbox, KRAFTON, NetEase, Remedy Entertainment, and Riot Games on board for initial game support but has now added Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, and Embark to the list.

We’re excited to bring Anno 117: Pax Romana to a new generation of RTX-powered PCs,” said Stéphane Jankowski, Ubisoft executive producer of Anno 117 : Pax Romana. “Our teams build the game to be seen wide: full districts, long sightlines, thousands of details at once. Seeing RTX Spark hold that level of fidelity from a single chip is genuinely impressive.”

In addition, NVIDIA is working with publishers to support anti-cheat systems with the NVIDIA Spark. It is working closely with EA to bring native support for their Javelin anti-cheat solution. Furthermore, the RTX Spark, like many other consumer products, owes its lineage to more professional-use technology such as the DGX Spark and, as such, is also designed to be very capable of being used for non-gaming purposes. NVIDIA has also already stated getting support from Adobe, Blackmagic Design, Blender, CapCut, ComfyUI, and OTOY, and more, but this is now the tip of the app iceberg because Windows on ARM has surpassed a new milestone. According to a new post by Microsoft, and just in time to celebrate at this week’s Gamescom event, Windows on ARM now supports over 7,000 verified apps and games. From STEM and education apps to security and productivity, creativity, social media, and entertainment, and more, the list keeps growing. Microsoft and NVIDIA are joining hands to ensure everyone knows that Windows is getting powerful and efficient support via the RTX Spark, and the “virtuous cycle is now clearly in motion.”

“In a significant milestone for the platform, Microsoft and NVIDIA recently announced NVIDIA RTX Spark. These new devices are the most powerful and efficient, thin-and-light Windows PC ever, built with the Arm architecture.”

– Microsoft

Presently, Samsung, with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors, and NVIDIA are the headliners for using ARM-based Windows devices, but they could end up being the beginning of a new tidal wave of manufacturers to offer the x86 alternative if Microsoft is able to better bridge the gap between the two architectures. NVIDIA and Microsoft have already said they are partnering to optimize driver support for Windows, and any gains there are surely to be a win-win for consumers seeking more powerful mobile devices.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
