Frequency, Power & Temperature
On this page, we are going to explore the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X3D CPU frequency, power, and temperature. We will use a combination of full-load testing in Cinebench 2026 for Multi-Core power, temperature, and frequency, as well as some frequency testing while playing a game, Cyberpunk 2077, at 1080p. All of our data has been captured with HWiNFO64.
CPU Frequency – Cyberpunk 2077

The first thing we thought would be interesting to look at is what CPU frequency the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X3D runs at while gaming in comparison to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Therefore, we are running a real-world, in-game manual run-through in Cyberpunk 2077 to find out. Polling for the data was at 2-second intervals; thus the time shown, multiply the total time at the bottom for the actual time of the run-through, which was a 6-minute run-through of data.
The first thing we noticed is that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D had a more consistent frequency; the Ryzen 7 7700X3D did fluctuate a bit more, which was just an interesting note. At any rate, we can see that the Ryzen 7 7700X3D runs between 4.4GHz-4.55GHz while gaming, meaning it is hitting its Turbo Frequency Boost of 4.5GHz, as it is supposed to when it needs to while gaming. For comparison, the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is running between 4.85GHz-4.950GHz (peak), but generally at 4.9GHz while gaming. That gives the Ryzen 7 7800X3D an advantage of around 8% clock speed over the Ryzen 7 7700X3D while gaming.
CPU Frequency – Cinebench 2026 Multi-Core

The left screenshot is the frequency for the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X3D, and the right shows the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D. You can see that we are indeed hitting 4.55GHz maximum, but averaging around 4.4GHz for all-core on the Ryzen 7 7700X3D. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D hits 5GHz max, but averages around 4.8GHz in an all-core full-load situation.
CPU Power

Running full-load Cinebench 2026, the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X3D hits 80.6W of power, while the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D hits 85.4W, a difference of 6%.

We can also look at the CPU Wattage over time while playing Cyberpunk 2077, not Cinebench; this is playing a game above. The AMD Ryzen 7 7700X3D maintains a lower Wattage at between 65W-70W while gaming, compared to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which pulls 75-80W while gaming. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D utilizes about 11-12% less power while gaming compared to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
CPU Temperature

The AMD Ryzen 7 7700X3D ran at 75.6c, while the Ryzen 7 7800X3D ran at 78.6c, very close to the same temperatures.
